  Piccolo 64MB disk drive
  Developed in Hursley, 62PC, or Piccolo, was announced in 1979. Capacity was 64 MB over six 8" platters. This was the first 8" HDD.

Piccolo was used in IBM 3310 DASD and mid-range systems such as IBM 8100 Distributed System, System/34, System/38 and IBM 5520 Administrative System. Also used on the low end System/370.

The 62pc was also used to house the firmware / microcode for the 3082 support processor which was integral to the entire 308x line up to the largest 3084 mainframe.
