  IBM 0662 Spitfire Disk Drive
  Developed in Rochester, Mn, the Spitfire was the first 1GB hard disk in a 3.1/2" x 1" high package using magneto resistive heads. It has three platters, with 5 surfaces for data and one for servo feedback.

Spitfire was used in the IBM 9336 Storage Subsystem and 9337 Disk Array sub-system. It was also widely sold in the OEM marketplace, winning several awards for innovation.
